Meet Erika Findlay, MACP, RP

With over four years of experience in children’s mental health and addiction care, Erika brings a warm, compassionate, and human-first approach to therapy. She supports individuals navigating trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, and life stressors with care that feels safe, collaborative, and personalized.

Using a trauma-informed and integrative approach, sessions are thoughtfully tailored to each client’s unique needs. Drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, care is grounded in both clinical knowledge and genuine connection. Additional training in EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) further supports deep and meaningful healing work.

🤍 EMDR Therapy Currently completing certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), this approach helps clients process traumatic and distressing experiences while reducing the emotional intensity attached to past memories. EMDR can support individuals feeling “stuck” in survival responses and help restore a greater sense of control, resilience, and safety.

Benefits may include: • Reduced trauma symptoms • Decreased anxiety, panic, and hypervigilance • Support through grief and phobias • Increased emotional regulation and resilience

🤍 Addictions Counselling Support is offered from a non-judgmental and harm-reduction-focused lens for individuals navigating substance use and concurrent mental health challenges. Therapy focuses on understanding underlying patterns, building coping skills, and reducing shame while working toward sustainable and meaningful change. Experience also includes facilitating support groups for family members impacted by a loved one’s addiction.

Benefits may include: • Increased self-awareness and resilience • Healthier coping strategies • Reduced shame and guilt • Greater reconnection with self

🤍 Children & Youth Counselling A warm, patient, and flexible approach helps children and youth feel comfortable expressing themselves in therapy. Sessions may incorporate play, art, attachment-focused work, and caregiver collaboration to support emotional growth and connection. The goal is to create a space where therapy feels both safe and engaging.

Benefits may include: • Reduced anxiety, anger, and low mood • Improved communication and self-advocacy • Increased confidence and emotional insight • Stronger understanding of emotions and relationships

Outside of the therapy space, Erika enjoys baseball, volleyball, gardening, painting, fitness, and spending time in nature. She believes therapy should feel grounded, authentic, and supportive - a space where clients can show up exactly as they are.

If you’re looking for a therapist who blends evidence-based care with warmth, compassion, and authenticity, Erika would be honoured to support you on your healing journey. 🤍
